Summary for Humans: ExtractAudioLocal is a free, in-browser media utility that operates entirely on your device. You keep 100% ownership of your files. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to convert whatever media you load. We provide the software "as is" with no warranties, and we never touch your files.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ExtractAudioLocal (accessible via extractaudiolocal.com and associated subdomains/pages), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must discontinue use of the site immediately.

2. Permitted Use & Lawful Content

ExtractAudioLocal is provided free of charge for both personal and commercial use. However, you agree to use the service only for lawful purposes:

You must hold the necessary rights, licenses, or authorizations to extract audio from any video files you process through this tool.
You agree not to use the service to violate intellectual property rights, copyright, trademark, or privacy rights of any third party.
You agree not to attempt to reverse engineer, tamper with, or maliciously exploit the website infrastructure or distribution scripts.

3. User Ownership & Intellectual Property

Your Media Remains Yours: You retain complete and unencumbered ownership of all video and audio files you load into ExtractAudioLocal. Because processing occurs entirely on your device, ExtractAudioLocal does not receive, view, transmit, or license any rights to your content.

Site Intellectual Property: The ExtractAudioLocal name, logo, visual design, custom CSS, user interface, and proprietary software integration are the intellectual property of ExtractAudioLocal and protected by copyright and international intellectual property laws. Open-source components (such as FFmpeg and WebAssembly libraries) are licensed under their respective open-source licenses (LGPL/GPL).

4. Client-Side Execution & Hardware Requirements

You acknowledge that ExtractAudioLocal executes on your device's hardware using WebAssembly and Web Workers. Conversion performance, memory consumption, and processing speed depend on your device's processor, RAM, battery level, operating system, and browser capabilities.

While we implement advanced memory safety guards (WORKERFS virtual mounts, tiered memory warnings, automatic garbage collection), processing extremely large files (e.g., 2GB+ on mobile devices) may exceed your browser tab's memory allocation and cause the tab to refresh or terminate.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR COMPATIBLE WITH EVERY CORRUPTED OR PROPRIETARY MEDIA CODEC.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL EXTRACTAUDIOLOCAL, ITS OPERATORS, CONTRIBUTORS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, CORRUPTED AUDIO FILES, HARDWARE DAMAGE, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION) ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
